Gili is an architectural building company based on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, undertaking selected projects in Melbourne and Byron Bay.

We build a small number of carefully considered homes each year. Our approach is grounded in more than two decades of experience, but equally shaped by a desire to keep learning, questioning and improving.

Built from Craft

Gili began with carpentry. That foundation still shapes the way we think about building, an appreciation for materials, an understanding of how things come together and a respect for the knowledge that comes from mastering a craft. As our projects have become larger and more complex, that connection to making has remained.
Build Around People

Exceptional work is never the work of one person. Every home brings together people with different skills, perspectives and experience. We value long-term relationships, straightforward communication and people who care deeply about their work. We listen to people who know their craft. We expect a lot from the people we work with and the same from ourselves.
Care is the Constant

For us, care is a way of working. Thinking before acting. Protecting someone else's finished work. Resolving a detail rather than accepting something that's nearly right. Considering how a material will look not just at handover, but years from now. It applies equally to the architecture, the construction and the people involved in creating it.
Looking Forward

We want to build homes that are beautiful to live with, perform well, weather honestly and become better with age. Homes our team and collaborators are proud to have made. And ultimately, a body of work that our children, and hopefully theirs, can look back on with pride. That's what we're building toward.
