What keeps us looking.
More than two decades of building has taught us a lot. It has also taught us how much there still is to learn. Materials evolve. Building science develops. Old ideas are rediscovered. New technologies emerge. Not everything new is better, and not everything old should be left behind. Curiosity is how we find the difference.
HEALTHY HOMES
We spend much of our lives inside buildings. That makes us curious about how a home affects the people who live within it — indoor air quality, ventilation, moisture, temperature, daylight, acoustics and the materials we surround ourselves with. A beautiful home should also feel good to live in.
MATERIALS
Materials tell stories. Where they came from. How they were made. How they feel. How they weather. How they change with time. We're drawn to materials with integrity and equally interested in new materials and technologies when they offer a genuinely better way forward. The question isn't whether something is old or new. It's whether it belongs.
TRADITION WITH NEW WAYS
Traditional craft holds generations of knowledge about materials, climate, repair and longevity. Modern building science gives us new ways to understand and improve comfort, health and performance. We're fascinated by where those worlds meet. Taking what has endured. Understanding what we know now. And using both to build better.
